The UBC Journal of International Affairs is hiring editorial staff!

 

The Journal of International Affairs (JIA) is a student-run, peer- and faculty-reviewed, undergraduate publication. For the past thirty-three years, the journal has showcased distinguished papers written by students from a range of faculties and departments. Contributing to the journal offers students an invaluable opportunity to have their work published early in their academic careers.

 

We are looking for students to staff the 2020 publication of the UBC JIA. The advertised positions (see job description here) are open to all UBC undergraduate students.

 

Applicants are requested to submit the following information to irsa.jiaeditor@gmail.com by 11:59PM, Friday, September 27th, 2019:

 

Applicants for Editor should submit: 
 

  • A brief resume.

 

  • A cover letter that includes: your research interests, your motivations for joining the JIA, strengths/skills/experiences you bring to the team, what experiences/skills you hope to develop as part of the JIA.

 

  • An academic writing sample of at least 2 pages. The paper may be from any department as long as the subject matter pertains to international relations. 


Please note that all editors at the JIA are volunteers. Furthermore, they are also eligible to submit papers for publication.
